Emmalyn's Blessing

May 18th

We decided to bless Emmalyn in our home after church on Sunday, the 18th. We tried to find a time that worked best for most of our family to attend. Jayna's grandpa Roy and grandma Nilsa were flying in at about 10:00am that Sunday for Jayden's (Jayna's little sister) graduation during the upcoming week anyway. We wanted to make sure that they were able to attend, so that was the biggest reason that we didn't do the blessing in our sacrament meeting (which starts at 8:30am). We thought it would be a little wierd to do in our home at first, but the more we talked with people we found out that a lot of people have blessed their children at home and had good things to say about it.

We're not the only picture happy people in our families so everytime we have any sort of get together like this we take plenty of the obligatory family pictures.

Grandma Olsen with Emmalyn...


Grandma Olsen does a cross stitch for each one of her grandkids that get married and each great grand child when they're born. She actually cross stitched everything but the name, birth date, and birth weight before Emmalyn was born so she didn't know her middle name was going to be Rose when she decided to include roses.
