Shaylin Nicole Hedges

Shaylin's story began on August 13th, 2006. After walking around the Chandler fashion square mall for an hour or so, we decided to stop by the hospital on our way home to see if Shaylin was close to being born. It was around 8:30 pm by the time we got to the hospital. We first went to triage where they hooked Jayna up to a monitor to see how Shaylin was doing. Her heart rate went pretty low during Jayna's contractions, so the nurses said they were going to keep us at the hospital just to be safe. They took us to our Labor and Delivery room at about 9:30pm. At around 11:00pm, Jaylene (Jayna's mom), came to stay with us and be there for Shaylin's birth.

After being monitored for about 3 hours Jayna was induced around 2:00am. The medication didn't kick in until around 5:00am. It wasn't very long before Shaylin was ready to come out. She made it out at 9:09am. She was 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. We decided to name her Shaylin Nicole Hedges, because we liked the name "Shay' and thought it sounded good with 'lin' on the end.

There were a lot of people waiting for Shaylin's arrival that loved her so much and couldn't wait to meet her. We were especially happy and had been dreaming of this moment when we became parents for a long time.
