Shaylin turned 3 years old this year! Her birthday was on a Thursday, so we decided to do her birthday party on the following Saturday. We still wanted to do a special dinner for her birthday and since she LOVES Chuck E Cheese (the place, she is terrified of the guy in the suit) we decided to go there and invited our families. The kids loved playing there. Shaylin and Emmalyn were especially excited to have their cousins - Christian, Declan, and Jessica there too.
To start off the day, we gave Shaylin a little present (we waited until her party the next Saturday to give her the rest). Jaylene (Jayna's mom) works at Kohl's so we get great deals on everything, and Jaylene found these shoes on sale for really cheap. They were normally $25 and only cost $3 dollars each. Of course we had to get them in 3 different colors AND matching pairs for Emmalyn. We're guessing that most kids wouldn't be too excited to get shoes, but since Shaylin's a girl, she was so excited.The girls love them and so does Jayna.

Later that evening we went to Chuck E Cheese. The girls have been there a few times without us when her parents have been babysitting them and taken them there.. The just love it!

Jayna's parents told us the last time they brought the girls here, Shaylin climbed up in this play structure, but started screaming bloody murder and wanted to come down. Jayson (Jayna's brother) had to squeeze through and help her get down. This time Shaylin had her nice older cousins Christian and Declan to help her go through and down the slide. She had lots more fun with them there to play with. You can see Christian behind her in this picture.
It was so funny to watch Shaylin play skeeball. She couldn't figure out how to throw the ball smoothly and it took her a while to get to where she could barely make it over the edge to get 0 points. But, hey, she loved it!
This is what happened when the little Chuck E. mascot made an appearance and was walking around saying hi to everyone. Although at first glance it may look like everyone is happy in this picture, Shaylin is definitely NOT! Her uncles Jayson and Jaycob were saving her from Chuck E. It was funny to everyone else, but not Shaylin or Emmalyn. They were both terrified and after he was gone and they were done crying they both kept a watchful eye out to make sure he wasn't coming back.
John (Matt's brother) was so nice to give Shaylin all his tickets and here they are putting them in the machine to count them. She was so excited.
Jaymee and Jaycob (Jayna's younger bro and sis) were going to town on DDR. Jaymee came straight from volleyball practice to join us. That is Jay (Jayna's dad) watching in the background.
Probably the funnest game there for us older 'kids' was the basketball game. We played that a lot and had a lot of fun with it. Everyone was trying to beat each other's records. Here is Jayson (Jayna's bro) and John (Matt's bro) battling it out.
Jaymee took Emmalyn on the big horse ride. This horse is like 10 feet off the floor and Emmalyn really enjoyed it, as you can tell by looking at her face.
This is a fake smile on Shaylin, but she did have a great time at Chuck E Cheese. Thank you to all the family that came and made it so fun for her! We are so lucky to have family close by that we can see so often. It is still crazy to think that Shaylin is already 3 years old. She is such a wonderful girl and we are amazed at what she learns everyday. She is so smart and has turned into a real chatterbox lately, which we love! We love her so much and can't wait to make more memories with her!

Looks like a great party and it is SOOO GREAT that you have both your families so close that they can be apart of everything! Wish we could have been there to share it with her!
