July 20th - July 25th
We spent a busy but fun filled week at Mitzi and Curt's (Matt's parents) house in Utah after the Poky reunion and Hooper visit. The best part about the time we spent there was that Matt's whole family was there for most of the week so we got to spend a lot of time visiting with everyone. We stayed up past midnight every night playing cards (which doesn't sound late until you remember that we are married with kids and that makes it so anytime after about 9:00 feels late to us) with everyone. Some of the other fun things we did while we were there were visiting the nearby Cabela's multiple times (the kids love it), going to the Living Aquarium, playing at the park, going to the dinosaur museum/farm/children's garden at Thanksgiving Point, playing at the nice big park across the street, cutting Jayna's friend Nikki's hair for locks of love, going to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house, going to see a movie in the theatre (which is a very, very rare occurrence since we've had kids), going to Sundance ski resort, getting to see Madsen (Matt's best friend from his mission), and getting to do/watch fireworks. We're sure we left out a few things, but you get the idea. There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't get to do several fun things. Big thanks to Mom and Dad Hedges for having us and for sponsoring all the fun! We can't wait to get up there again next year!!!

We got to go over to Sundance Ski Resort for several hours one day. The scenery was beautiful and there was many neat shops and fun things to do. One of the big reasons we went was so that Matt and Andy could ride the ski lift up and go downhill mountain biking back down the mountain. Here they are with their rented bikes...
Matt and Andy riding the ski lift up the hill. They actually put the bikes on the chairs behind us to ride up. Jayna and Shaylin rode the lift all the way up and back down once for fun, but we didn't get a good picture of it. Shaylin loved it though!

We bought a few small fireworks for the cousins to light off on Pioneer Day like sparkler's. Shaylin got a kick out of that...
After Emmalyn and Jessica were asleep we went outside and watched the neighbors light off fireworks. Shaylin sat in the grass with her cousins Christian and Declan for about a half an hour watching the nice show that one of the neighbors put in with fireworks that were just a small step down from the 'real' fireworks you see at firework shows.
