All Good Things Must Come to an End

We had so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa Brugman's house. They always make us feel so welcome. We enjoyed getting to play the card game 'hearts' with Grandma, going to the zoo, going to Los Gringos, picking lemons, eating the delicious meals, and everything else we got to do while we were there. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for the fun visit and for everything they do for us!

Grandpa and Shaylin...

Grandma and Shaylin...

Here's Matt chasing Shaylin down the hallway. She loves to be chased. She runs, screams and giggles whenever someone she knows is chasing her. When she runs into a wall or something else blocks her, then she usually will turn around and run into the arms of whoever is chasing her.

Jayna, Shaylin, and Grandma chowing down at Los Gringo's Loco's. They had the best fresh guacamole there. After we ordered it a guy came out and made it all fresh right in front of us, including cutting up the avacados. Dinner was so good!

Shaylin loved her bubble baths while we were there. If you look closely in the picture you can see her bubble goatee from blowing the bubbles all over.

We came to California with only a few bags, but we came home with a lot more. Grandma and Grandpa were nice enough to give us one of their spare beds for our guest room. Here's the box springs tied to the top of the car.

Here's a view of the back of the car. It may not look like much, but when you consider we came over with about two bags and a pack and play, it's a lot! The main reason we bought the van was so that we had more space for kids as our family grows, but the other reason is so that we can haul more stuff around, so it came in extra handy on this trip.

Not only did we bring back the bed but we also brought back the bassinet for the baby and plants that we got from Home Depot (they have cooler plants in CA). The bassinet is the same one we used for Shaylin. Grandma actually bought it and plans to pass it around for the different grandkids/great grandkids to use.

Shaylin was pooped out on the drive home. She does very well on the drives. It helped a lot that we brought along a TV with a DVD player and she watched Backyardigan's for a lot of the drive.

I'm from CA and all these places you talk about I've been in and around those areas. I feel like I just went on a trip to CA too.

I love Shaylin's smile!
