We did a couple fun things this year for Halloween. Last Saturday we went to Dave and Ashley's for a Halloween party. Not only was their good pot luck food, but we got to carve pumpkins while we were there. Then on Halloween we went to the ward trunk or treat. Shaylin wasn't really sure about what was going on and pretty much just wandered around the parking lot most of the time with her mom, dad, or grandma Hedges close in tow. She had a hard time understanding that her main goal was supposed to be getting some candy for her mom and dad.
The first two pictures are just of her in her costume. Although she did a good job keeping it on and keeping the hood on her head, she didn't smile a lot while she was wearing it. Maybe she didn't think it was as cute as we did.
The Halloween party was actually at Celeste (Ashley's sister) and her husband Peter's house. They had a pathway made out of crushed granite with some sort of sealant on it that made a nice hard path for bikes and wagons. Shaylin loved being pushed around the path!
Shaylin tried to help Matt carve our pumpkin, but mainly she just ended up trying to eat the pumpkins innards off of the spoon we were using to clean it out. Nasty.
Here's us with Dave and Ashley and our finished pumpkins. We carved the 'PHX' pumpkin, which some of you may recognize from the 'phoenix' Phoenix Suns logo. And yes Matt went to both the party and trunk or treat as Steve Nash, complete with a jersey and that's it.
Dave, Matt, and Shaylin snuck away to watch the ASU-Cal football game. Judging by the sour look on Dave and Matt's faces the last call went against ASU. The good news is that it ended well (ASU won 31-20). In related news, Shaylin nominated herself for remote duty.
The next few pics are from the trunk or treat. We took a few of Shaylin hanging out in the trunk.
In this picture you can see the banana that Jaylene (Jayna's mom) made in a matter of minutes that was a perfect compliment to the costume.
Shaylin did a lot of wandering around and didn't grab a lot of candy. Pretty much the only time she grabbed some is if someone held out a piece of candy or a bowl for her to come to.
This was the best dressed couple at the trunk or treat. They are Jayna's Uncle Tim and Aunt Gina and they had the best costumes of any of the adults there.

oh my goodness shaylin is the cuteist thing i have EVER seen. I wish i went trunk or treating with you guys!! Tim and gina are so scary. hahaha. they are so funny. i havn't seen Ashley and dave latly. I need to sleep over at your house sometime. Now that i have school i can't :( You have the cutiest family and more coming!! :)

Shaylin is adorable! I bet it was so fun to take her out trick or treating! Just think...next year you'll have two cuties to take out! yay!!!
