Back in Ootah

Thursday April 5th - Monday April 9th

In April we had the opportunity to drive up to Utah. We'd planned the trip a while ago so that we could catch some of Jaycob's (Jayna's younger brother's) baseball games. He's playing right field for BYU. We got to catch a three game series vs. the University of Loyola Marymount. We stayed at Matt's parents house in Highland so we got to spend time with them and we also got to see most of Jayna's family while we were there, including her parents who made the trip up and Jayden who drove up with us.

The games went well - BYU won 2 out of 3 and Jaycob had a good series. The kids love going to his games, especially Bronson who had been asking everytime he woke up or went anywhere in the car for at least a week before we went to Utah - 'I go Jaycob's baseball game?'. They love going to the games in Provo, playing with Jayna's younger cousins, and they love seeing Ali, Jaycob's girlfriend who is really good with them. They also like seeing the mascot 'Cosmo the Cougar' although they spent most of the time being terrified that he was going to get close to them, although Shaylin finally warmed up enough to give him a high five. The first two games were at night, the first of which was nice and the second was pretty cold. The third game was during the day and it was pretty warm - 75-80 degrees. We actually got a lot more video than pictures, but here's a few pics that Matt's dad took:

Cute Emmalyn bundled up during the second game.

On Saturday, after Jaycob's game, we got to go to Thanksgiving Point Gardens with Matt's parents. It's a huge, beautiful garden that's about a 10 minute drive from their house.

Shaylin and Emmalyn probably had the most fun on the giant grass hill. It was perfect for rolling down. Grandma Hedges was fun enough to do it with...

After being mocked by Shaylin and Emmalyn that their grandma was willing to do it and I wasn't - ok so they didn't say anything out loud but they were probably thinking it when they asked me to roll down the hill with them - I decided to completely lose my equilibrium with them.

Although a lot of the tulips hadn't bloomed yet, there were sections filled with beautiful tulips already.

We had a little extra time one day so we walked over to the park by my parent's house and they got to play with Grandpa Hedges and Grandpa Jay...

We got a few pictures with the kids after church on Easter Sunday...

We got to color eggs at Matt's parent's house and do an easter egg hunt.
