Ever since we first saw the BYU baseball schedule several months ago we've been looking forward to getting to watch Jayna's younger brother Jaycob play. He's a freshman there this year. It was their first home games of the year even though they've already been playing for over a month. They have to spend the first month plus on the road because of the snow and cold weather in Provo. We would have been excited to go see him play no matter what, but he had already been playing well and we also got to stay with my parents while we were up there, so it was an all around fun trip. Jayna's younger sister Jayden was also able to come with us (her husband is playing minor league baseball right now in Michigan). It was a lot of fun to have her make the trip not to mention that she is always a HUGE help with the kids.
The first game we went to was an evening game on March 24th, and to say it was cold for us thin blooded Arizonan's would be an understatement. We had the kids all bundled up but they were still pretty cold for most of the night. It was in the 40s. Lucky for them, they weren't able to sit still for very long, so they kept warm running around the stadium while grandma and I chased them around. Between Jayna and my dad, we got plenty of pictures of the kids and of the game.
Here's a few of our favorites of the kids from the first game...

My parents got us BYU shirts from the BYU Bookstore before we went up and our friend Cori used transfer paper to put 'Brug 4' on the back of Shaylin, Emmalyn's, and Bronson's shirts and 'Brugman 4' on the back of mine and Jayna's shirts.

Here's a few pictures of Jaycob. Jayna took the one of Jaycob in the batter's circle and dad took the two other in game shots...

After the game we got to wait indoors (luckily) just outside the locker room to talk to Jaycob. Here's a picture of Ali's (Jaycob's girlfriend) sisters and mom with Jayden and our family. Ali was actually in New York so we didn't get to meet her but we got to meet her family and even stopped by her house. The girls were super excited about the playroom they had and especially loved playing with the 2o or so dolls that they had.

The bad news about the second day we were in Utah was that Jaycob's game was cancelled due to the snow. The good news was that the kids got to play in the snow for a little bit. The playing (and short walk) didn't last long because again, we're from Arizona and we don't do well in the cold, but it was still fun.
Our cute kids all bundled up and ready to go outside...

Shaylin and Emmalyn posed for pictures outside...

We brought the umbrella to keep the video camera out of the snow (I just wanted to point out that although I am a wuss, I'm not that big of a wuss). The kids had fun running down the sidewalk...

Here's Bronson pretending to play Wii after we were done playing in the snow...

Since the Friday game got cancelled, they played a double header on Saturday. The games were in the middle of the day, which meant the weather was a little nicer and the kids didn't have to be quite so bundled up. A lot of Jayna's extended family came to the game as well.
Not only were the games really fun to go with, but Jaycob played really well while we were there which made it even more fun. For the three game series he went 7 for 11 at the plate with 2 doubles and a triple.
Here's Shaylin (wearing Brittney's glasses) with Jayna's cousin Brittney...

We wanted to get at least one family picture with the backs of all our shirts showing (Jayden's holding Emmalyn)...
Shaylin and Emmalyn have always been absolutely terrified of mascots. They actually kind of liked watching 'Cosmo' the Cougar from a distance, but as you can tell from Emmalyn's face in this picture she wasn't sure about being that close...
Bronson had fun riding on my shoulders between one of the innings. Sidenote: They have a nice stadium there in Provo and of course they also have a beautiful mountain backdrop.

Here's another good picture of Jaycob batting that my dad took...
Jayden and Jaycob laughing at something hilarious that I said (just kidding, I don't remember why they were laughing)...
Me and our cute kids outside the locker room after the game...
Bronson all bundled up and happy with Jayden outside of the stadium...

As always our kids had a ton of fun getting to spend time with their grandma and grandpa Hedges. We are so lucky to have such fun and loving grandparents for our kids, including Jayna's parents.
