Our latest race was a 5K called PurpleStride that raised money for Pancreatic Cancer. Jayna and I were looking for a race to do and were were excited when we found this one since we had a personal connection to the cause. My Grandpa Olsen died of pancreatic cancer. While we were excited to run we were even more excited to be donating money to the cause.
The race was in Phoenix at Steele Indian School Park. There were 137 people that finished the run, so it wasn't a huge race, but it was still fun. It was basically two and a half laps around the park. I finished at 21:48 (7:01 pace), which ended up being 5th place, and Jayna finished at 29:03 (9:21 mile pace). Jayna's back was really bothering her, but she fought through it and ended up doing well.
