As many of you probably already know, Christmas is in fact not in February. We're just posting December pictures in February. We've never been the greatest at regular blog posts, but we never expected to go a whole month without posting!!! So without further ado we'll restart our constant catch up attempt...

Bronson is getting so big so fast! It's been a month and a half since we took these pictures but he looks so small here laying on the floor on his favorite super soft blanket...

Dec 24th - Christmas Eve
We can't get enough of looking at our baby boy and we can't stop taking pictures even after he falls asleep. He takes a lot of his naps in the swing during the day.

This year we spent Christmas Eve at Jayna's parents house and ended up spending Christmas afternoon and evening with Matt's parents at their Maricopa house. We kept up the traditions of playing the 'pipes' (metal conduit cut to different sizes that make notes when you hit them with a big nail) and opening a new pair of pajamas. As always we had a lot of fun and the girls were really excited to get a cute new pair of pajamas at the end of the night. The rest of the pictures from the 24th were taken at Jayna's parents house.
Grandma Nilsa's first time meeting and holding Bronson...

The girls having fun playing with their aunt Jayden...

Our little photographer checking out the picture she just took.

Our favorite soon to be sister-in-law Leah holding Bronson for the first time...

Shaylin and Emmalyn playing with Jayna's cousin, Sydney. They all had so much fun walking around holding hands and playing together.

Derek and Jayden. This was the first time Derek held Bronson. Up until then he'd been worried that he'd drop him if he held him, but we convinced him that it would be tough to drop him while sitting on the couch.

Shaylin and Emmalyn icing some sugar cookies. Shortly after this picture was taken the cookies magically disappeared :). Our girls have yet to meet a cookie that they don't like.

Collin (our good friend Nikki's husband) meeting and holding Bronson...

Dec 25th (Christmas)
Christmas was a little busy this year as always. First we did Christmas at our house. Santa got Shaylin and Emmalyn both new bikes with training wheels. We asked Shaylin not to go downstairs before she woke us up to go down with her, so we could get her reaction to the bike on videotape. What we didn't take into account is that she's now tall enough to stand on her tippy toes and look over the half wall at the top of the stairs into the living room. So the first thing she told us when she came into our room was that Santa got her and Emmalyn bikes. Oh well, it was still cute and her and Emmalyn had a lot of fun just sitting on the bikes every chance they got before we left for Jayna's parents and then after we got back from Matt's parents later that night.
The next stop was Jayna's parents house where we quickly found out that Jaylene (Jayna's mom) wasn't exaggerating when she said that most of the presents under the tree were for the girls and Bronson.
Shaylin, Matt, and Emmalyn opening presents at the Brugman's...

Shaylin opening more presents with Jaylene...

Next up was Christmas at Matt's parents house in Maricopa. Matt's parents also did a very good job of spoiling everybody :)
Shaylin with Lacey...

John and Lacey also decided to spoil the girls this year. They got this cool Barbie car for them to share. They were more than excited about it!

Justin (our nephew) and Bronson taking a break from the festivities to relax on the floor...

The girls playing the organ that's in Matt's parents house with their cousin Jessica. For some reason the organ is a big hit with all the grand kids.

Dec 26th
The day after Christmas we got to go through the Mesa temple with Derek and Jayden, who were going through for the first time. Jayna's parents were also able to go through along with our friend Nikki and her parents, Alan and Sandy. Matt's parents came to watch the girls and Bronson on the temple grounds while we went through, so Jayna could feed Bronson before and after the session. We can't thank them enough for taking several hours out of their day to help and allow us to go!
Here's Alan, Sandy, Nikki, Jayden, Derek, Jaylene, and Jay after the session. Notice the two funny little girls who decided to jump in the picture at the last second.

Close up of the previously mentioned funny little girls taken from the last picture...

Derek and Jayden in front of the temple. Once again their was a funny little girl who decided she should be in the picture too.

Cutie...

From Left to Right: Jay, Emmalyn, Jaylene, Shaylin, Derek, Matt, Bronson, Jayna, Curt, and Mitzi...

We are so proud of Jayden and Derek for all the great decisions they're making in their lives and we were glad to be able to support them during such an important milestone!

Have we mentioned that the girls can't get enough of Bronson yet?

Although she hasn't been able to ride her bike very often yet, Shaylin has gotten really good. She can go all the way around the block now with very minimal assistance from us. She just needs help going up and down the curb and also needs help getting started sometimes. During one of her first few times riding it she was struggling to get it started moving by herself and proclaimed 'This is like having a baby!' She's a crack up.

Dec 29th
We got our first real crop of lemons this year. Shaylin and Emmalyn were excited to go in the backyard and help us pick the first ripe ones.
Our beautiful daughters...

Shaylin holding the first lemon in front of the tree. (Sidenote: This picture's a little sad to look at now since our nice green tree just got overwatered during a recent week long storm and has since lost all it's leaves! We're really hoping it comes back.)

Silly goose...

Bronson hanging out in his Boppy...

It's been a few pictures since we showed one of the girls holding Bronson, so here you go...

Shaylin watched our Christmas movies repeatedly during the month of December, with 'The Santa Clause' and 'Elf' being her favorites and the ones she watched the most. One day Matt found her like this and asked her what she was doing. She explained that she was Santa, this was her sleigh, and that these were her reindeer. She's got such a fun imagination!

That's all folks...
