Well, we figure we might as well start this blog site with a few pictures of the person who people will be coming to see :). Shaylin turned one year old a month ago. Here's a few recent pics.
We went to JC Penney on her birthday (Aug 13th) to get these taken. We did a walk in appointment and snuck in between a few that the photographer already had scheduled. They said that a normal sitting time was about an hour to get a decent amount of pictures but Shaylin only took about 15 minutes to get a bunch of cute ones. She's had a lot of practice with picture taking :).
The rest are from her birthday party on Aug. 17th. A bunch of family came into town and we had a swimming party at Jayna's parents house. Shaylin had a ton of fun swimming (it took her a while to warm up to swimming, but she loves it now!), eating cake, and opening presents. Jaylene (Jayna's mom) made Shaylin a beautiful cake. We forgot her high chair at home so she got to eat the cake standing up and surprisingly stayed pretty clean. One of her favorite toys of the night was a little sand rake that she hardly even let go of (you can see it in the bus picture).
